What is Harmonica?

Harmonica is the first Egyptian application for safe and conservative matchmaking through choosing the best scientific methods and assessments that have been made by relationship experts and Psychiatrists.

How does Harmonica work?

Harmonica works through an artificial intelligence engine, based on account data, personal questions, and user-specific assessments, combining all of that data and determining compatibility with all other application users.

Whenever you use Harmonica, you evaluate other users as the AI engine learns your preferences and improves the suggestions that appear to you.

How do I sign up to Harmonica?

You can sign in to Harmonica via your Facebook account or by mobile phone number.

How to sign in with your Facebook account: When you download the application, click Use Facebook Account.

Harmonica does not publish on your behalf the Facebook page to ensure the highest level of confidentiality in use.

To sign in, your Facebook account must be active for more than 6 months, and you have more than 50 friends.

Who can use Harmonica?

Harmonica is only for those  who are 21 years old or older.

Harmonica and Facebook. How will you use my Facebook profile?

Harmonica does not publish on your behalf the Facebook page to ensure the highest level of confidentiality.

We use Facebook account data only to automatically verify your identity by making sure your account has been active for more than a year and has at least 50 friends. No one can see your Facebook account without your permission.

Do I have to use my Facebook account?

Using mobile phone number: Click on register by phone number, register the number and press confirm.

You will be asked to enter an activation code sent to you via SMS.

Write the 4-digit code sent in a text message to the registered number, enter your name, password and personal data.

What are the data needed to complete my profile?
  • Name (if logged in from Facebook will get a Facebook account name)
  • Religion
  • Gender
  • Location (city and neighborhoods)
  • University and college
  • Marital Status
  • Body type
  • Hight
  • Job
  • Personal picture (if you register from Facebook, Facebook will be uploaded automatically and can be changed from your account settings). You can add three additional photos along with the main picture.
  • Provide a brief bio about yourself.
Why do I have to upload a picture?

In Harmonica our priority is safety which takes both sides serious and committed.

To ensure Harmonica protection from misuse, each account requires a clear individual picture, clear face features without sunglasses, or filters on the picture.

The picture and account are displayed only to the person being rated or in search.

Harmonica users can upload four images.

Harmonica will periodically review and verify the images to ensure compliance with the said rules.

Why has my picture been rejected?

The picture is rejected if any of the following conditions are not met:

  • It is individual and does not have other people.
  • It is high quality and has clear facial features.
  • Without sunglasses.
  • Does not have any effects (filter).
What is validation?

Getting a mark next to your name on the account means that your account is verified, which means that the customer service team has seen your personal ID and that Harmonica provides assurance to others that it has seen the data and verified its authenticity.

Verification is not necessary but makes other people trust you more when you see the verification mark on the account.

How do I validate my account?

Verified accounts are accounts that Harmonica team verifies according to data of the owners.

The account is verified through the app by clicking on the blue icon to "verify account" under personal account page, and then taking two pictures of the two sides of the ID card in the designated places for each.

Harmonica team will add the blue verification mark to the account, after verifying and checking the date of birth, marital status, qualification and job.

Why was my ID rejected for validation?

An ID will be rejected if any of the following data is not similar to the account data:

  • Age.
  • Marital status.
  • Job / Qualification.
  • Address.

If any of the data does not match the account, you will be sent a notification with the rejection reason.

What is Harmonica Gold and how much does it cost?

Harmonica Gold is a paid subscription that gives you more advantages when using the application:

There are two types of subscription: weekly subscription: 69 LE/week and monthly subscription: 199 LE/month.

Free Harmonica user gets:

  • One golden match per day.
  • Search results only
  • Two rating sets only per day (equivalent to 24 ratings).
  • 3 match requests

Harmonica Gold user gets:

  • 3 golden matches per day.
  • Unlimited search results.
  • Up to 50 opportunities for rating.
  • Unlimited opportunities for match requests.
How can I pay for Harmonica Gold?

At the moment, you can pay for iPhone users only, and the payment is done by deducting from you mobile phone balance.

We are currently working on other payment services.

Who can I search for on Harmonica?

You can search for other users using preferences such as age, city or wether or not they smoke.

You can not search by name or search for a specific person.

Search results will never include a person that has been recommended to you before.

Search results will never include a person with an active conversation with someone else.

Why am I rating other users?

Rating is the only way to get a conversation with another user.

If both users give high ratings to each other, the user will appear in conversations screen.

If you rate a user it means that your account has also appeared for them to rate you.

The artificial intelligence engine learns from your rating and changes users who are displayed to you according to your previous ratings.

You'll see more questions as you rate more users.

How do I appear to people on Harmonica?

Your account appears to others in the rating list, the image first appears and the rating stars and the other party can see the data you entered and answer questions.

Your account may appear as well in the search results.

How can I start a chat?

To start a conversation both users must give each other a high rating that is not less than 3 stars.

Rating with less than 3 stars means that the user is rejecting a conversation.

What is an inactive chat?

Each user can only have one conversation at a time.

If you talk to someone, all other conversations will be suspended until the existing conversation ends.

If you are not talking to anyone and the conversations are suspended, that means that the other users on the list have other active conversations.

What are the questions, how are they used?

Questions that are displayed after rating users are designed to measure the personality type, your answers are used by the artificial intelligence engine in order to display users who more compatible with you.

The questions were developed by a team of specialists in psychology and relationships.

How do I report another user?
  • Reporting can only be used to raise a flag on the account, only accounts that appear in the rating or that you chat with can be reported.
  • Always report people only in case of abuse, because reporting may cause blocking of the other user.
  • Be sure to choose a valid reason to report and add as much information as possible to help us take action against the offending user.
  • Specific text inside the chat can be reported by a pressing and holding the text and the selecting report, Harmonica team follows up on your report and takes the necessary steps.
  • Only conversations that are made through the application can be reported. If you decide to take the conversation outside of Harmonica, our team can not take action against the other user, so consider using the application for conversation as much as possible.
How can I delete my account?

The account can be deleted from your Profile page on the app.

You can also leave your data for an opportunity to use the app again, by leaving an email or phone number.

I've deleted my account, how do I join again?

You can create a new account at any time, or re-activate your archived account.

If you chose to leave your contact data when deleting your account, you will automatically reactivate it when you create a new account.

I can remember my login details.

You can get the new password through the login page. If you have used Facebook for your account, all you have to do is choose to sign in using Facebook again

Is it possible to use Harmonica outside Egypt?

If you are an Egyptian residing abroad, all you have to do is choose your place of residence or birth in Egypt within your account data.

Harmonica is currently unavailable to non-Egyptians.

How do I keep the security and safety while using the harmonica?

Harmonica takes all steps to ensure that the acquaintance takes place in a safe environment, and that the platform is not misused by unreliable people.

To maintain this level, we recommend that our users use the reporting feature when exposed to any situation that harms the platform or harms the user.

Online Behavior:

  • Financial resources: You must protect your money and not send money or financial information, never respond to any request to send money, especially abroad or by bank transfer - even if the person claims to be in an emergency. These include bank transfers such as sending money, or sending cash gifts through mobile networks, credit cards or traditional gift cards. The sender has no protection against loss and it is almost impossible to go back or track the money.
  • Protect your personal data: Do not give out any personal data, such as: national number, credit card number, work or home address for people you do not know or have not met personally. Note: Harmonica will not send you an email to ask about your username and password. We will not disclose your data to any other user. No one can be tracked by using the app.
  • Be smart when using the app: Report suspicious users and report any concerns about any suspicious user with any profile. It is important to commit to using the app only without creating external conversations so that you can report the user and that we can take the necessary steps to block the account and protect the data. Some bad users may try to transfer conversation to messages, e-mail or phone conversations in order to prevent us from following them and taking action against them.
  • You are not allowed to take a screenshot of your conversation with any user.
  • You must report suspicious behavior. In addition, please report anyone who violates these terms and conditions.

 

Examples of violations include:

  • Requesting money or donations
  • Requesting personal photos
  • Minors using the app site
  • Sending email, spam or aggressive messages
  • Behaving improperly during or after a date
  • Register or create fake personal profiles

 

You can always report specific text in a conversation by clicking on the text and specifically reporting it. The customer service team will review the text and take steps to ban the offending user.

Always take precautions and follow these guidelines to help you stay safe:

  • Get to know the other person. Communicate through the app and get to know users seriously either online or using the app before meeting them personally. Bad users often push people to communicate with them outside the platform. You are free to search and take due diligence on your part.
  • You should always meet users in public places - not in a private or remote place and / or in a house or apartment. If the other user is pressing you, ask to leave the date and leave the place immediately.
  • Tell your friends and family about your plans Tell a friend or family member when and where the date will be. Make sure your mobile phone is charged and with you at all times and make sure you do not get into the other user's car or give them your detailed home address.
  • Going to the date you must be independent and responsible for your own means of transportation, do not accept a ride home with your date in the first meeting.
  • Stay alert, consuming alcohol and / or narcotics may weaken your judgment and may put you at risk. It is important to keep your mind clear and avoid anything that might endanger you. Go to settings page then choose change the language.

Harmonica is currently available in Arabic and English languages only.
